Its me, Marcela!

I’ve always known that my destiny was in tech. I was a nerdy child of the 90s, fortunate enough to have access to a computer from the age of 8, and I fell completely in love with it, experimenting with Paint, PowerPoint, and even MS-DOS, and later creating blogs that introduced me to HTML. As a teenager, I discovered Photoshop, taught myself through early YouTube tutorials, and worked on design projects like birthday invitations. This interest led me to study Marketing, where I enjoyed a 13-year career supported by my design skills.

In 2022, I had a turning point in my life that also allowed me to migrate my career to coding, which had always been a dream. I moved to London and started with online courses like Harvard’s CS50 and a Swift course. Later, I joined Makers Academy, an immersive bootcamp, where I learned Python, Swift, and especially JavaScript, along with frameworks and libraries like React and Node.js. I gained experience with databases, both SQL and NoSQL, using PostgreSQL and MongoDB, as well as debugging, testing, and cloud deployment. I applied these skills to projects that replicated websites such as Airbnb and Facebook, and even developed an original group app using Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and pair programming.

Since then, I’ve been continuing my learning journey, exploring more about JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C#, .NET, and full-stack development. I’m also taking online courses, building my portfolio, and engaging with the community through events and study groups, which have helped sharpen my skills daily.
